The United Nations Expert Group on the Integration of Statistical and Geospatial Information (EG-ISGI) will convene its fourth meeting on 9-10 November 2017 at Statistics Sweden’s premises in Stockholm, Sweden, immediately following the joint UNECE/UN-GGIM: Europe Workshop on Integration of Geospatial and Statistical Standards to be held from 6-8 November 2017, also hosted by Statistics Sweden.
The meeting will be convened in accordance with Statistical Commission decision 44/101 and UN-GGIM decision 3/107, which welcomed the proposal to establish an Expert Group on the Integration of Statistical and Geospatial Information to bring together experts from both statistical and geospatial information communities to work for the development a global geospatial-statistical framework and address issues related to the integration of statistical and geospatial information.
The objective of the fourth EG-ISGI is to create an opportunity to review and consider the recent (2016 and 2017) decisions of UN-GGIM and the UN Statistical Commission relating to the Global Statistical Geospatial Framework (GSGF), the 2020 round of Population Censuses, and the activities of the Expert Group going forward.
