The Deqing meeting of the United Nations Expert Group on Land Administration and Management (EG-LAM) was convened in Deqing, China on 26 and 29 September 2018. The Expert Group was ably and hospitably hosted by the Ministry of Natural Resources, China, the Zhejiang Provincial Government and the Deqing County Government, and was attended by twenty-seven participants. Twenty-one of the participants represented their national agencies coming from thirteen Member States and three participants represented international organization and United Nations systems. The meeting was held in conjunction with the Deqing International Seminar on United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management with the theme "Effective Land Administration". All participants of the Deqing meeting also participated and contributed to the Deqing International Seminar held from 27 - 28 September 2018, at the same venue, the Treasure Island International Hotel, Wukang Town, Deqing, Zhejiang Province, China.

The Deqing meeting of the Expert Group concluded that the key elements or pillars of effective land administration that the Expert Group had considered and worked on prior to the Deqing meeting, importantly, aligned with the nine strategic pathways of the United Nations Integrated Geospatial Information Framework. The Expert Group will seek to elaborate the nine strategic pathways of the Integrated Geospatial Information Framework as is pertinent to land administration and management, which will be the crux of the proposed Framework for Effective Land Administration. This framework is intended to serve as a reference by Member States to translate concepts, especially existing globally agreed concepts, towards practical implementation by governments to establish and sustain more effective land administration.
